Fall Party

Our annual Fall Party was a great success this year. Melissa always serves the best snacks, and this year was no exception with cheese dip, apple bread, citrus cider, and cut-out cookies (all home-made).

Following some brief socializing, the guys and girls segregated to commence carving. Some of our friends are more interested in the carving than others, but the final result is quite a sight. Of course Melissa and my most awesome pumpkins won the contest.

After carving the girls stayed inside to make caramel apples, while some of the guys went outside to play $10 with a football. Apparently most of the guys played $500 as kids, which brought on jokes of my being too poor as a child to play $500 so instead played $10. This was especially funny for me because the taunter was unaware of a long-standing inside joke about the Schaafs being poor in the early years.

The party ended with a few of us relaxing in the hot-tub, drinking our frothy, green grog.
