Baptized

Esther got baptized last Sunday. It was a great day for us as parents. We had lots of fun and fellowship with friends and family in the afternoon,

then off to church in the evening for the special event. (Thanks to all who came!) Esther's gown was special because my mom made it from leftover fabric from my wedding dress (which she also made). The gown was precisely to my specifications and Esther pulled it off quite well. Also, my Aunt Marilyn played music after the baptism for the passing around of the babies that my dad wrote when I was a baby - variations of children's songs such as "Jesus loves me" and "Jesus loves the little children" along with several others.

As Esther Loralynn got baptized, she had a huge smile on her face the entire time, and although adorable, the real star of the show was Jesus. We are so grateful as parents that God has already made His claim on Esther, in fact He did the moment she was conceived. We pray that as parents we would be mindful of the great responsibility God has given us in the raising of His child to follow Him, and that one day she may say, "I love Jesus as MY Lord and Savior and I want to follow Him all the days of my life." We thank God every day for the precious gift of Esther and now that we are parents we are more mindful of the precious gift of Jesus who condescended to us that we might be saved.
