The Schaaf Christmas was a little unusual this year. Typically mom and dad Schaaf and Uncle Jim and Aunt Laurie alternate hosting the party each year. However, due to unusual circumstances, in recent years mom and dad have not hosted the party in quite some time. So to make for a more equitable distribution of responsibility they decided to split hosting duty this year. We all first met at Jim and Laurie’s house for appetizers. Ryan and Rachael were there with Bethany. It was very good to see Ryan moving around after his back surgery and Ryan and Rachael’s baby is due in one month. 
Rob and Beth made the 6-hour trip to be there with the girls. It was very good to see them again. 
Cheri came along with Darren, and got to view first-hand the insanity of the Schaaf clan. After some very good snacks and a brief time of socializing, the entire party migrated over to mom and dad’s for the main dish. 
Unfortunately Molly wasn’t feeling well, so Rob and Beth had to leave early. They missed out on a fun game of Taboo in which the men reaffirmed their superiority by winning 20-16.
