It's been Quality week at GE Aviation (Smiths). I'm surprised how big a deal it's been since we've never had fun events in previous Quality weeks. There have been several games like a Sudoku challenge, employee sponsored classic car show, and free 5-minute massages. There was a stretch limo Hummer giving shuttle service between our facilities. We've also had people giving video presentations such as a guy from Boeing showing a documentary on the F-18, and a rebroadcast of the 787 unveiling that happened Sunday (7-8-07).
But the coolest thing is the helicopters landing on-site. On Tuesday a UH-60 "Blackhawk" from the Grand Ledge National Guard landed in a field next to our building. Employees and their families could check it out, talk to the pilots, and sit inside. Today an AH-64 "Apache" flew in from Kentucky for the same sort of show. I didn't take any pictures, but they looked a lot like these...
